Guide and Precautions for Carbon Fiber Heating Tube Ovens

Many industries are involved in plastic coating, such as laptop shells, automotive decorative strips, and other plastic spray-painted products. In the process of plastic spray painting, tunnel furnace production lines are typically used for preliminary drying of the paint, and then the paint is forcefully baked in the paint room to enhance surface hardness, adhesion, and other properties. Today, we will introduce some basic operating methods and precautions for using carbon fiber heating tubes in paint baking rooms.

Installation Precautions for Carbon Fiber Heating Tube Ovens:

  1. Place the oven on a clean, level indoor surface, and ensure it is protected from moisture and dampness while avoiding corrosion.
  2. When installing, check if the voltage matches the rated voltage. Install power switches and wires that meet the required capacity based on the oven’s power consumption. The external casing must be grounded. Typically, ovens with lower power use 220V, while higher power ovens require 380V.
  3. After installation, test the temperature controller to see if it works correctly. Verify if the actual internal oven temperature corresponds to the temperature set on the controller. If there is a significant discrepancy, contact the manufacturer to adjust the parameters.
  4. After completing the temperature test, ensure the oven’s circulation fan and temperature upper and lower limit control systems can function normally and switch on and off properly.

Operating Procedures for Using the Oven:

Once the carbon fiber heating tube oven has been tested and is ready for use, only trained personnel should operate it. The temperature controller discussed in this article refers to a specific model with a visual display, though other brands operate similarly and can be understood with a little study. The specific operating procedures are as follows:

  1. Turn on the power.
  2. Check if the power voltage indicator is accurate.
  3. Set the upper and lower temperature limits on the temperature controller.
  4. Press the start button to activate the oven.
  5. Once the temperature reaches the preset range, the product can be placed inside the oven.
  6. After using the equipment, check whether all systems are functioning correctly, turn off the power, and record the usage.

Temperature Controller Setup Instructions:

wiring instructions
  1. Refer to the wiring instructions to connect the wires correctly, and choose the appropriate sensor position according to the specifications.
  2. Rotate the knob on the temperature controller. Turning it to the right increases the temperature (up button), and turning it to the left decreases the temperature (down button). The SV display will show the set temperature, and rotating the knob one full turn adjusts the temperature by 25°C. When the actual temperature is lower than the set temperature, the relay inside the temperature controller will engage, powering the heating element to raise the temperature. When the actual temperature reaches the set point, the relay will disengage, stopping the heating, thus achieving temperature control.
  3. After setting the temperature, press the front of the knob to lock the set temperature value to prevent accidental operation. The “LOCK” indicator light will turn on. To unlock, press the knob again, and the “LOCK” light will turn off. Once locked, turning the knob will not change the temperature setting.
  4. Hold the knob for more than two seconds to turn off the temperature controller. The PV display will show “OFF,” and heating will stop, effectively turning off the controller. To turn it on again, press the knob once more.
  5. If the actual temperature exceeds the set temperature by more than 10°C, the “OVER TEMP” indicator light will turn on. If it falls below 10°C, the light will turn off.
  6. If the heating time exceeds 15 minutes without reaching the set temperature, the “OVER TIME” indicator will light up, indicating a need to check for improper operation or a heating malfunction.
  7. If the thermocouple is disconnected or open, the PV display will show “EEE,” and the fault alarm light “ALARM” will light up. The temperature controller will immediately cut off power to the heating element, preventing overheating accidents and thus ensuring protection.

Advantages of Carbon Fiber Heating Tubes:

Carbon fiber heating tubes have very low thermal inertia. After normal operation in a room-temperature environment, they can cool back to room temperature within two minutes after being powered off. Combined with a temperature controller, they offer excellent temperature control in the oven, with minimal thermal inertia.
