Materials Available

We offer quartz tubes manufactured from various purity grades, including 3N, 4N, NC4X, 5N, and 6N, to meet different specification and processing requirements.

3N quartz is our standard material, offering stable supply and good process flexibility. It supports stock sizes, small-batch orders, and even single-piece customization.
4N quartz provides higher purity and is available for both quartz tubes and quartz capillaries, with specifications subject to evaluation.
NC4X quartz is typically used for stable, batch-based production of specific sizes, such as common optical fiber preform dimensions (OD 12 mm / ID 4 mm), and is generally produced by furnace runs.
5N and 6N quartz are used for applications requiring higher purity. 6N quartz is typically available only in capillary sizes, while large-diameter tubes require batch production.

In addition, optical-grade quartz materials (JGS1 / JGS2 / JGS3) and cerium-doped quartz can be supplied upon request, subject to specification and feasibility review.

Customization Options

For non-standard dimensions, customized production is supported based on OD, ID, wall thickness, length, and application conditions.

Processing Capabilities

The examples below illustrate some of the secondary processing operations we can perform on quartz tubes and are not limited to the configurations shown.
Dimensions, structures, and details can be customized based on drawings or specific technical requirements. Please feel free to contact us with your application or design.

Technical FAQ

Typical Working Temperature

Quartz tubes can be used continuously at 1000 ± 50 °C, with a maximum working temperature of 1300 °C.

At 1200 °C, quartz tubes can operate continuously for up to 10 hours.
As the operating temperature increases, the allowable continuous working time will decrease.
Exceeding the recommended temperature or duration may result in deformation or devitrification of the quartz tube.

Vacuum Resistance (Negative Pressure)

The vacuum resistance of quartz tubes is not defined by a fixed or independently tested limit.
In practice, the achievable vacuum level inside a quartz tube is determined primarily by the vacuum equipment used, rather than by the quartz tube itself.

State-of-the-art turbomolecular vacuum pumps available on the market are capable of reaching vacuum levels in the range of 10⁻⁹ to 10⁻¹¹ Pa, with ultimate vacuum values as low as 10⁻¹¹ Pa (10⁻¹³ mmHg).
However, these values are measured at the pump inlet, not inside the quartz tube.

Within the quartz tube, the measurable vacuum level is typically around 5 × 10⁻⁶ to 9 × 10⁻⁶ Pa, depending on the distance from the measurement point and the overall system configuration.

As a result, an absolute vacuum cannot be achieved inside quartz tubes or vacuum tubes in practical applications.

If calculation of internal pressure or vacuum level is required, our engineers can assist based on tube dimensions, wall thickness, and application conditions.

Chemical Compatibility

Quartz glass is compatible with most acids and chemicals, except for certain fluorine-containing compounds and alkaline media at high temperatures.

Coating Availability

Several coating options are available depending on optical appearance and application requirements:

Gold coating – Genuine gold coating, providing a true gold appearance.

Titanium nitride (TiN) coating – A yellow-toned coating with good durability and balanced performance.

Aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) coating – A white coating option that is more economical and suitable for cost-sensitive applications.
