Customization of Carbon Fiber Heater Element

The carbon fiber infrared heating element is widely used in various applications such as heating, drying, and insulation in household appliances, industrial equipment, and medical devices.

The element’s shape can be customized into various forms, including straight, round, pear-shaped, U-shaped, M-shaped, NU-shaped, Ω-shaped, and single-ended designs.

The quartz tube’s appearance can also be customized, offering options such as clear, frosted, ruby, gold-coated, semi-gold coated, and semi-white coated finishes.

Introduction of Carbon Fibre Heating Element

The carbon fiber infrared heating element is a high-tech product that differs from traditional electric heating elements such as metal wires and halogen tubes. It boasts excellent features such as long lifespan, high electrothermal conversion efficiency, far-infrared radiation, energy savings, and environmental protection. The main emitting component of the far-infrared heating tube is composed of inorganic carbon fiber with a carbon content higher than 90%. It primarily emits energy through far-infrared radiation, with wavelengths ranging from 4μm to 14μm. This range of far-infrared radiation is often referred to as the “light of life,” accounting for over 80% of the overall emission spectrum. Additionally, it can be absorbed by water molecules in the air, generating a resonant friction heat effect, which quickly raises the temperature in the heating environment.

Structure of Carbon Fiber Heating Element

The encapsulation material is made of high-purity dehydroxylated quartz glass, which has an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient and outstanding thermal stability. It can withstand drastic temperature changes without cracking (even when heated to 1500°C and then rapidly immersed in 10°C water). Quartz glass is an excellent material resistant to acids and alkalis (with the exception of hydrofluoric acid), offering 30 times the acid resistance of conventional ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel.

Carbon fiber is one of the most competitive high-tech materials of this century, revolutionizing the electric heating industry. As a pure blackbody material, the carbon fiber heating element is made from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and viscose-based carbon fibers through a specialized composite process. It is lightweight, strong, rigid, and has a high modulus, making it highly resistant to high temperatures. Additionally, it offers excellent heat resistance, wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, high electrical and thermal conductivity, a low thermal expansion coefficient, and far-infrared radiation properties. Encased in high-purity dehydroxylated quartz glass, these heating tubes are impact-resistant, clean, and have an average lifespan of 8,000 hours. With far-infrared radiation, the tubes quickly transfer light and heat to objects with minimal visible light emission. The conversion of electrical energy is primarily concentrated in the far-infrared spectrum, resulting in more than one-third energy savings compared to halogen heating tubes. Additionally, the product contains no harmful substances to humans or the environment and does not emit ultraviolet radiation or electromagnetic waves during operation.

Most organic substances, including water, have absorption spectra within the range of 3μm to 20μm. When the wavelength of the radiation source matches the absorption wavelength of the material being heated, the material can easily absorb the infrared rays. Far-infrared radiation, with wavelengths ranging from 6μm to 15μm, falls within this range. Therefore, a large portion of far-infrared energy is easily absorbed by substances, leading to rapid temperature increase. Additionally, when infrared radiation heats objects, the areas it penetrates tend to have a higher temperature than the surface.

Modern science has demonstrated that all living organisms, including humans, must absorb far-infrared radiation to produce a series of biological effects essential for life to continue. This is because the main components of living organisms—water, proteins, and carbohydrates—have absorption wavelengths that match the far-infrared radiation range of 6μm to 15μm. This wavelength synchronization facilitates effective absorption, making it the easiest for biological organisms to absorb. It is this absorption that determines the survival and growth of all living things in nature. For this reason, far-infrared rays in the 6μm to 15μm range are often referred to as the “light of life.”
